You have probably heard people saying that drinking green tea & honey will make you lose weight. Well, there is some evidence behind that.
The international journal of obesity found that green tea supplements, containing catechins or caffeine, had a small but positive impact on weight loss and weight management.
Adding honey to the green tea will include anti-inflammatory properties to your drink. Isn’t it great!
But I would suggest you go easy on the honey because sucrose in honey is equal to table sugar. That can turn your weight loss journey to a weight gain journey.

Honey will soothe your throat all night and theanine in green tea will relax your brain resulting in better sleep. Theanine is a compound in green tea that has sleep-promoting properties.

But yes there are many correlations (not causations) between various benefits and the drinking of green tea and honey. Moreover, excess of anything is harmful and too much honey consumption can make you gain weight.

Green Tea and Honey Facemask
- Green Tea – 2 gram (1 Teabag or 1 teaspoon Matcha green tea)
- Water – 1 Tbsp
- Honey – 1 Tbsp
- Get a mortar pestle and grind the dry green tea leaves. Or use Matcha if you have it handy.
- Boil the water.
- Pour 1 tablespoon of hot water on green tea powder. This will activate the green tea.
- Add honey to the mixture and leave it to rest for at least 15 minutes.
- Apply on your face or desired body part.
- After 15-20 minutes, Clean your face with lukewarm water. Pat dry and don.
